Delta NAST Chairman visits Sapele Chapter, urges members to be upright in their dealings

The Chairman, Nigeria Association of Survey Technician, Delta State Chapter, Mr Babatude Adegun over the week paid a consultative visit to Sapele Chapter in Sapele local government of Delta State, urging members to be upright in their dealings.

Adegun urged members of NAST in the country not to allow themselves to be treated like slaves labourers, noting that Survey Technicians are the chief executives of the survey profession in Nigeria, therefore, must stand upright to defend the profession.

According to him, as a delegate of the National Association of Survey Technicians (NAST) he came to know how various chapters are faring, tasking them to promote unity amongst members, “promote oneness and love among each member,” he added.

He stated further that it’s sad t that a lot of our colleagues have made themselves labourers to draftsmen and planners.

“We must try to address this in the states. I am sure this association will be stronger than this if members regard themselves as an arm of the survey profession and not a labourer. We must stop making ourselves labourers to others in the profession in an attempt to get money.

The chairman stated also, “I advise every surveyor to make this survey job your priority and give it a chance because whatever we have today is because of this survey job, I wish you all the best of luck as surveyors continue to abide by the constitution of the association and other relevant code of ethics governing this association.”

The chairman appreciated his predecessor Mr Andrew Diemijenyo, the immediate past State Chairman for his love and commitment towards the growth of NAST in Delta State and the country at large.

The chairman appealed to the association members to always respect registered surveyors because “we are one and together we move forward in oneness.”

The immediate past State Chairman Mr Andrew Diemijenyo thanked the state chairman and Sapele NAST executive for their commitment towards the growth of NAST in Delta State.

He warned those bad eggs in survey technicians in the state to desist from bad survey jobs in the State because the day of reckoning is at hand. He pledges to continue to support NAST at Sapele and Delta State levels.

The chairman of the NAST Sapele chapter, Mr Ochuko Abolo who appreciated the State Chairman and his team for the visit, appealed to Surveyors in Sapele to join hands with the State Chairman to build the survey profession to an enviable height and also to eliminate quackery.

Mr Obire on behalf of Sapele chairman appreciated the grand patron, Mr Andrew Diemijenyo for his fatherly support and prayers and as well as the state chairman and every member of NAST that came to witness to days event.

The high point of the event is the official handover ceremony to the newly elected State chairman.
