The former governor of Delta State, Chief James Ibori, at about 4:30am today land at Abuja International Airport, and will be received by its teaming supporters at the Osubi Airport by 1pm, ADVOCATE, can authoritatively report.
Recall that Ibori on Friday appeared before a Southwark Crown court in the ongoing case of asset forfeiture hearing, along with many of his supporters who had arrived London few days earlier in a show of solidarity for their leader, before leaving to Nigeria.
Confirming Ibori’s arrival Chief Ighoyota Amori told ADVOCATE on telephone, that Ibori will be received at the Osubi Airport by noon, “yes he came in this morning and as we speak Deltans from all works of life and other well meaning Nigerians are trooping to receive our national leader.”
Oghara his country home is now in festive mood, as celebrations has engulfed the entire communities now spreading to Sapele and Koko, headquarters of Sapele and Warri North, LGA, Delta State.
Chief Ibori, recently regained his freedom in December 2016 after spending four-and-a-half years in a United Kingdom prison for money laundering, may forfeit assets worth about £250m should the trial judge rules against him, according to media report.
