Bramor urges Niger Delta youths to sustain peace

A prominent Niger Delta leader, Chief Kenneth Bramor, has appealed to youths to continue to support ongoing peace process in the region to attract fast development, noting that there cannot be development without peace.

Bramor in a statement while mourning the untimely death of a popular Niger Delta peace advocate, Mr. Gabriel Owei-Ekpetipu, said that there is the urgent need for youths to embrace peace.

He stated that the late Owei-Ekpetipu who hails from Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South West Council Area of Delta State played a critical role during the heat of militancy to ensure that peace returned to the region.

Bramor called on Niger Delta youths to support Ekpetipu’s peace advocacy even in death and shun acts of violence in the region for constant growth and development of the region

“Owei-Ekpetipu was a strong peace advocate until death took him away from us. I urged the family to be consoled by his immerse contribution to the peace and development of the Niger Delta especially his strong condemnation of kidnapping and piracy in the creeks of the region.

“While we continue to urge the federal government to develop the region to sustain the relative peace, I appeal to the youths to create the enabling environment to enable the government do the needful”, Bramor further added.
