Benin Solidarity Movement (BSM) worldwide has rejected the commendation that the Aare Onakakanfo, Iba Gani Adams gave to the Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare11, relating to his celebration of the Oranmiyan festival.
The socio-cultural group, in a message by its President Curtis Eghosa Ugbo, lambasted Iba Adams for congratulating the Omo N’Oba. Ugbo said that Adams is too small(a personality to commend the Benin monarch.
“Adams is too small to be appreciating our Royal Father the Oba of Benin Kingdom, the Yoruba are children of the Benin Kingdom and he shouldn’t be the one to tell us about the history and relationship between them.
“Oranmiyan was a Benin Prince that founded Oyo and Ile-Ife. Gani Adams should kindly apply to come to the Oba of Benin’s Palace for him to be taught the proper history of the Benins and Yorubas.”
Elder Curtis Ugbo said that the BSM had to speedily come forward to put the records straight before Iba Adams succeed in confusing/deceiving the people.
