Abia community honours Emerhor with Distinguished Honorary Citizen Award, “Enyi Oma” title

A business mogul and chieftain  of the All Progressive Congress, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor OON was today (Friday) honoured with Distinguished Honorary Citizen Award and conferred with the traditional/Chieftaincy title “Enyi Oma” (Best Friend) of Ugwueke ancient kingdom of Abia State.

According to Mr Isaac Mba Okorie, President General of Ugwueke Development Union, said, Emerhor was given the Honorary Citizen Award and the traditional title of Enyi Oma of Ugwueke following his ‘pivotal role and assistance in the construction of about 12 Kilometers of Alayi-Ugwueke-Akaeze Road by NDDC.

Meanwhile, Sir Johnson Chukwu, who attracted and funded the roads construction, was also honoured with the traditional title of “Omeziri Obodo” of Ugwueke Kingdom.

In his response, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor who was represented by Chief Cyril Abeye Ogodo, who received the award and traditional title on his behalf, thanked the Ugwueke Traditional Council and people for finding him worthy of the award and chieftaincy conferment, said the recognition will spur him to more because the reward of hard work is more work.

He promised to continue to support the President Muhammadu Buhari led government in its quest to give Nigeria the development leap, in order to take the nation to the next level.

The ceremony which was attended by the Deputy Governor of Abia State; Sir Ude Oko Chukwu, former governor of Anambra State; Mr Peter Obi, Abia State SSG, Senators, House of Representative member and Members of Abia State House of Assembly, amongst others.

In the entourage of Olorogun Emerhor, were Prince Edewor Akpedafe, Engr. Mike Pemu, Aghogho Abraham Orotomah, and Sunny Onos amongst others.
