2023 Election: Okpe-Isoko people throw behind Usie candidature

The people of Okpe-Isoko Kingdom in Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State have resolved to throw weight behind the candidature of Prince Oghenerioja Usie, vying for Delta State House of Assembly, Isoko North Constituency under the platform of Labour Party.

Indigenes of the community disclosed this to newsmen over the weekend when Prince Oghenerioja Usie declared his intentions of representing the good people of Isoko North Constituency at the Delta State House of Assembly to his people.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr Bonniface Ijedi, Okpe-Isoko community Chairman, said Prince Oghenerioja Usie, a bonafide son of Okpe-Isoko Kingdom, had earned the admiration and trust of his people, due to his people-oriented programmes and initiatives that are capable of turning the fortunes of all constituents of Isoko North Local Government around.

On his part, Mr Edhekpobi Ighili and Mrs Dora Aweh said; “Among all the candidates on the ballot in this forthcoming election, he is the only one that can defend our interest because he is our son and also closer to us. This is the first time, we are having an indigene of Okpe-Isoko in the race and we have resolved wholeheartedly to support and vote for him irrespective of his party.

“We are very sure that, he will represent us effectively because being a grassroot politician and also a son of Okpe-Isoko who is well abreast with the yearnings of his constituents. We have no doubt that, if he is given the mandate, his term in office will benefit us more in the areas of effective representation and legislature.”

Earlier on, Prince Oghenerioja Usie, while addressing his people, said, his determination to give his constituents effective representation prompted him into the race.

In his words; “I am in the race for the Isoko North Constituency Assembly seat to provide positive, an all-inclusive representation that had been lacking in the constituency. I want to give quality representation to my people because they deserve it and much more.

“My mission is to give a formidable representation for the good people of Isoko North at the State Assembly with a view to attracting developmental projects and promoting youth empowerment, reducing crime and guaranteeing adequate human and capital development in the constituency.

“If given the opportunity to serve, I will passionately represent the interest of the good people of Isoko North local government area and I promise not let them down.”
