Police arrest Vigilante for allegedly killing a 22-year-old boy in Delta

Men of Delta State Police Command, Sapele Police Division, have arrested a Vigilante, one Mr Syvester Ebedi for allegedly killing a 22-year-old man, simply called Femi, in Sapele, Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State.

 

Advocate.ng reports that the incident occurred when some residents had gone out to watch traditional worshippers’ dance festivals in the Urban Area part of the town when Sylvester suddenly emerged and shot Femi who was said to have died on the spot.

 

It was also gathered that Sylvester had mistakenly shot Femi, thinking he was part of some group of boys who had earlier attacked them, “but I think it’s a case of mistaken identity” a man who simply called himself Modele said.

 

A security source who craved anonymity told Vanguard that Sylvester was arrested that night, “His Vigilante colleagues wasted no time in arresting him and they brought him to the station and as I speak to you, he is behind bars while investigation will be carried out,” the source who craved anonymity said.

 

The state’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, could not be reached for comment as of the time of filing this report, calls to his mobile was unsuccesseful.

Meanwhile, the corpse of the said Femi has been deposited in the Sapele Central morgue.
