OPINION: 24 years of PDP doom in Delta State and why Omo-Agege is the answer come 2023

By Elohor Afure Elohor,

For 24 long years, Delta has had to endure a lifetime of mediocrity from the People’s Democratic Party, PDP with their long list of incompetent leadership that has crippled the oil-rich state and have dashed the hopes of her youths.

24 long years of suffering inflicted on a people that should be enjoying the dividends of government in a land flowing with milk and honey and should be the envy of all.

For so long since the inception of democracy in 1999, the good people of Delta State have been bedevilled by lacklustre leadership with the PDP monopolizing power and thus shrinking dreams and aspirations of the youths.

Today the high rate of unemployment in the Nation should not be felt in a State like Delta with all her God-given resources. The youths should be picky when discussing employment as opportunities should be knocking on their doorsteps.

From Chief James Ibori to Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan through to Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, Delta State has had her fair share of poor administrators and this narrative should and must as a matter of urgency change as 2023 approaches.

From failures in the education sector to companies relocating from the state, and the pitiable industrial know-how of leaders, it is no doubt that Delta state is wallowing into oblivion and needs a Saviour before she becomes a forgotten giant in the Nigerian power space.

This is without an argument the reason why the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege completes all the puzzles when scavenging for a rightful, dependable and result oriented man to take Delta State to the Promised Land.

With grit, determination, and experience to the booth, the meteoric rise to stardom in Nigeria by DSP Ovie Omo-Agege has been methodical and a clear indication of the antecedents possessed by a man who has now ascended the highest position ever in government by an Urhobo man and is keen on transferring his expertise to develop his own State has seen it all at the Federal Level.

When people scream roadmaster while referring to Governor Okowa, one continues to wonder what road they are talking about as the man have only been a sectional governor focusing on Delta North and ignoring other parts.

From selling off Delta State Airport in Asaba for just 30billion with an instalment based paying plan a project where over 100billion Naira was spent to build, to shunning over parts of the state by creating 3 higher institutions in Delta North, it is noteworthy that governor Okowa has failed and is a clear opposite to DSP Omo-Agege, a man whose impacts have been felt in all nooks and crannies of Delta Central Senatorial District as he has undertaken projects across the district ranging from electricity, Education, skill acquisition, industries and more.

A state where graduates have been reduced to Okada riders and girls taking into prostitution to survive despite her rich revenues deserves a change, a new lease of life, a breath of fresh air and a man capable to transform her fortunes for the best.

24 years of PDP is 24 years wasted due to the incessant damages that have been done by a party that have reduced Deltans to nothing.

The moment of truth is here and a proven developer in Omo-Agege is whom Deltans need for a better future.

Agege is coming in 2023………
