Newly appointed provost of College of Education Warri, Delta State, Dr. Dickson Onovwakpoma
Oyovwi has assured of improved academic standards and infrastructural development of the school to enhance learning.
Dr. Oyovwi gave the assurance in a chat with newsmen at the school premise in Edjeba-Warri, shortly after the formal handover to him by the outgone provost, Professor Mary Olire Edema.
He promised to positively partner with the management of the school in its determination to provide and continue to upgrade the facilities of the school to create an enabling environment for learning, assuring that the school authority would evolve a programme to systematically address some of the few problems facing it.
Dr. Oyovwi disclosed that an innovative digital system that will help students have easy access to data to improve their learning in this digital age would be introduced.
According to him, “I want to ensure that we have a campus with a data plan that every student and staff can subscribe to at a very cheap rate. We will make sure everywhere you are in the campus you can access data with a little token. Obviously, this will increase research, because you don’t have to go to any cybercafé before you do your research with your phone and laptop in your office.”
He stressed that the method he planned to introduce would improve the educational standard in the college.
