Omo-Agege, Emerhor mobilise Delta APC members for the party registration exercise

Ahead of the All Progressives Congress, APC membership registration and revalidation exercise, the Deputy President of Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege tendency in Delta APC and that of the party’s 2015 governorship candidate, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor is currently mobilising party members and Deltans to register with the party.


The registration which billed to will commence nationwide and in Delta State as from Tuesday, February 2nd 2021, has unlike before, awaken the party as leaders and major stakeholders are mobilizing their members to boost their support based.

A memo issued by the leaders of the two group, Chief of Staff to Senator Omo-Agege, Dr Otive Igbuzor and the State Coordinator of Emerhor Political Family, (EPF) Chief Alfred Oloko obtained by our reporter, the memo directs members of the tendency across the state come out en-mass, mobilize and support the exercise to ensure that it succeeds.


According to the memo by the Omo-Agege tendency, signed by Dr Otive Igbuzor; the Chief of Staff to Senator Omo-Agege, it stated that the DSP has approved the structure for the registration process, adding that all appointee of the DSP, is to mobilise Deltans at the unit and ward level for the registration exercise.

The memo reads in part: “As you all are aware, the registration and revalidation of APC members across the country will start on 2nd February 2021. The DSP has approved the following structure to manage, coordinate, supervise and mobilise for the process. The target is to ensure that at the end of the process; at least 400 persons are registered per unit across the country. You are all expected to work with other stakeholders in the party to achieve this target.

“DSP aides are expected to cover all parts of the state. All the states in each of the LGAs should ensure that all the units under their LGAs are covered.


“A three-person senior management team of three persons from the office: CoS, DCos and Head of Delta Office will supervise and manage the entire process,” Igbuzor added.

Meanwhile, the EPF memo issued by the State Coordinator, Chief Alfred Oloko urged member of its group to come out enmass and work with the State Registration Committee empanelled by the APC National Caretaker Committee to undertake the registration process in each state.


According to him, “the responsibility of key stakeholders in each state is to work with the Committee and mobilise party members and people to massively register in order to make the exercise a huge success.


He added that “the registration exercise is anticipated to be open to all and is not expected to be fictionalised. In fact, it is in the best interest of the party that as many Deltans as possible are registered as members of the APC.”


“The EPF’s major responsibility is to participate in mobilizing Deltans to massively register for APC.


“In this role, we are to cooperate and work with other groups or persons who are also involved in the mobilization of people for the exercise.


“The registration exercise is not to be seen as a competitive exercise between party factions, tendencies or groups.


“At the units and ward levels where the exercise is most crucial, the expectation is for leaders of all tendencies to work in unison to encourage massive registration of old and new members.

“The EPF is expected to be out there at the unit, wards and LGA levels participating and showing leadership in mobilizing for the exercise.


“As you may also be aware, the office of the Deputy Senate President has released a similar statement outlining its arrangement and efforts to mobilize for the success of the exercise.


“We use this opportunity to acknowledge the DSP’s efforts in this regard and encourage cooperation between us and all such efforts in the state,” the statement added.


From the memo the two groups also have set up structures from the state, local government, ward and unit levels to mobilize members and Deltans to register with the party.
