NYCN holds peace walk in Sapele; commend Council boss, security agencies for restoring peace to Sapele

Youths numbering over 100 under the aegis of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, (YCN) Sapele branch, has commended Governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, the Sapele Local Council Chairman, Hon Eugene Inoaghan, and security agencies for smoking out cultists terrorising the town.

The youth group in their peace walk tagged ‘Save Sapele’, which is aimed at sensitizing residents of Sapele, also expressed concern over the inglorious activities of cultists in Delta State, thus causing residents sleepless nights, and particularly hailed the Council Chairman, Hon Eugene Inoaghan, the Commanding Officer, 19th battalion, Koko, Major C. O Mohammed, and the Sapele Police Divisional Police Officer, Harrison Nwabuisi for their commitment to ensuring a safe Sapele for the residents.

The peace walk which took the group through the popular Okpe road through MacPherson and Cemetery road before belting at the Sapele Council Secretariat along Yoruba road, also had in attendance the NYCN State Chairman, Comrade Kenneth Okotie, Chairman of Sapele Chapter of NYCN, Comrade Kingsley Abebe, the Urhobo Progress Union Youth wing President Efemena Umukoro and Human Rights activist, Comrade Lucky Isaba in attendance.

Comrade Isaba, while speaking to a team of journalists, charged the Governor to continue to provide the necessary logistics support to all the security agencies in the state to enable them to prosecute the war against all criminal activities.

” We want to appeal to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, to continue to provide the necessary support to all the security agencies to enable them to battle this crime once and for all,” he said.

” We wish to sincerely appreciate Governor Okowa, Hon Eugene Inoaghan, the Commanding Officer, 19th battalion Koko and Sapele Police DPO, for what they are doing in the town”

Isaba also commended the Delta State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Ali Ari, for his stand on cultism and crime, “He is walking the talk and we are grateful, these officers and men of the Army and Police have shown professionalism, bravery, and rare commitment to duty,” this is really commendable.”

According to Isaba, “This response by the outfit all the time has restored the once lost confidence on the security agencies and we pray earnestly that the tempo is sustained so that we can continue to have a peaceful Community and a decent society.

The Sapele Council boss while responding thanked the NYCN for the march for peace, he, however,
called on all residents to cooperate with the security agencies for effective results.” adding that that’s the only way they can get rid of this fight against cultism that has claim lives”
