An Urhobo pressure group, the Campaign for The Economic Survival of Urhobo Nation (CATESUN) has decried the incessant killings of Urhobo youths in Delta State and beyond, just as they called on security agencies to up their game and stop the ugly trend.

CATESUN in a communique signed by its National President, Olorogun Ese Kakor said the continuous killings of Urhobo youths by suspected assassins, cultists, herdsmen and armed robbers is worrisome.

The Urhobo group stated in the statement that there was urgent need by security agents in the state and beyond to nip the menace in the bud.

CATESUN lamented in the statement that there was no day that passes by without the news of killing in Urhobo nation. Regrettably, Government at the State and Federal levels in response to these killings have been passive and nonchalant.

While reminding both the state and federal government on its constitutional responsibilities to it citizens, CATESUN said, as elected representatives of the people, we are worried that these killings in Urhobo are unabating and we have a responsibility to remind the Government to live up to its responsibilities.

“Government should ensure the people enjoy their God-given right to life; by giving them necessary protections. It should rise up to its responsibilities of protecting the lives and properties of the Urhobo people and the country at large to avoid a descent to anarchy.
