Ezewu vows to deal with teachers’ indolence

Delta State Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Mrs Rose Ezewu, has said the ministry under her watch will not condole any form of teachers’ indolence.

She urged teachers in the state to reciprocate government investment in education by being more committed to duties.

The Commissioner handed the advice when she monitored the ongoing third term promotion examination in some parts of the state, pointing that teachers are critical stakeholders in the development of any society, especially in the area of building and shaping the orientation of children to become better leaders of tomorrow.

While saying the Ministry under her watch will ensure discipline in all ramifications, she reiterated Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s administration’s commitment to transform the state’s education sector.She advised students to take their academic work seriously and shun exam malpractice and other social vices capable of destroying their future.

Ezewu said that the ministry had ensured that there was effective teaching and learning in adherence with the scheme of work to get the students ready for their exams.

Schools monitored by the commissioner and her team included Okeme Secondary School, Okuokoko in Okpe Local Government Area, Ogbe Secondary School, Effurun, and Alegbon Secondary School, Ekpan both in Uvwie Local Government Area, and Edjeba College, Warri, Warri South Local Government Area.

The monitoring of the examination continues.
