CMA mourns passing of COAS, Lt. Gen. Attahiru

The Common Wealth Medical Association has mourned the passing of Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru.

Attahiru and others passed in an Airforce aircraft crash in Kaduna, on Friday evening.

In a statement signed by the Association’s President, Dr. Osahon Enabulele expressed sadness over the unfortunate incident, praying that God will grant the repose of their souls and give the families the fortitude to bear the loss.

” CMA shares your great pain and that of your wife and immediate family as well as those from the other departed officers over the unfortunate loss. On behalf of the CMA and Physicians from the 54 Countries of the Common Wealth, I sincerely convey our deepest heartfelt condolences to you, Lt. Attahiru’s wife and entire family, as well as spouses and families of the other departed officers, and the government and people of Nigeria over the irreparable loss.

“Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru was known for his charismatic and purposeful leadership. He was acknowledged as a great Commander with an impeccable commitment to your developmental agenda for Nigeria.

“We are, therefore, in no doubt that the unfortunate demise of Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru and other departed officers at this critical time in Nigeria’s history will leave a great vacuum that may be difficult to fill”.

“He prayed that the memories of the late Lt. General’s progressive strides and commitment to the oneness of Nigeria bring solace to his wife, family and the government and people of Nigeria.
