The President of BSM, Elder Curtis Eghosa Ugbo made this known while chatting with our Correspondent in Benin over the death of the Okao.

Elder Ugbo who extolled the outstanding qualities of the late Okao said that he was very loyal to the throne and fought the cause of the Binis.

He recalled that the Okao fought the Ijaw settlers who wanted to lay claim to the Gelegele land to the Supreme Court and got a judgement in favour of the Community.

He pointed out that all through the period of his reign as Okao he ensured that there was peace in the land.

While praying to God to grant the family and the entire people of Gelegele Community the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss, Elder Ugbo also prayed for continued peace in the Gelegele land.

” He died at the ripe age of 128, which shows he was a good man and he has gone to rest with the Lord”, he enthused.
