BREAKING: Fire outbreak at a Multimillion naira hotel in Ughelli

But for the timely intervention of lodgers and neighbours, the popular multimillion naira Wiltrice Hotel located along Dumez road, Ughelli, Ughelli, North Local Government Area, would have been razed today.

According to an eyewitness, the fire started on the first floor of the hotel’s two-storey security building, adjacent to the main building.

The eyewitness who does not want his name on print told Advocate.ng that it took the quick intervention of some customers who had lodged in the hotel as well as neighbours and passersby to stop the inferno from spreading to other parts of the hotel.

He said the fire was suspected to have been caused by an electrical fault in one of the security rooms.

When Advocate.ng visited the scene, a large crowd of commercial motorcyclists were seen. The Delta State government fire service vehicle was also seen just arriving at the scene after the fire have been put out.
