Apostle Igiehon urges Nigerians to be security conscious

Senior pastor, Banner of Solution Ministry, Apostle Emmanuel Igiehon has urged Nigerians to be security conscious.

Speaking with the Advocate.ng newspaper Correspondence in Benin City, the cleric attributed the high rate of crime in the country to the failure of the government to adequately provide jobs for Nigerians, especially the teeming youths.

“You say people should go to school. Many have gone to the school, but no enabling environment for them to work, no platform has been created for them to work. And that is the problem we are facing in this country. That is the reason why crime cannot cease.

“You see many people who read medicine are resulting to meaner jobs for survival. Somebody who read law in school, there is no place to practice. And what does he now do? When he discovered that those who didn’t go to school are making ends meet, he would no longer see the need of going to school? That is why you see today, people are just going to school to know how to read and write. No one is going to school for a professional purpose, because those who didn’t go are making headways.  And that is why many of them have lost hope. But if the government can wake up to put things in order, this increase in crime would subside”, he stated.

He further stated that those who learn a trade like mechanic don’t have a place to exhibit what they know, while those who borrowed money to do the business end up spending the money on fueling their generators as electricity supply is not regular.

Apostle Igiehon emphasized that if the economy was stable, crime would come to a minimal level.

The cleric observed that in developed countries of the world, there are platforms created for people who cannot sponsor themselves to higher institutions to learn skills and become self-employed or work and earn money.

He noted that with time these groups of people could save money and go to higher institutions if they so desire.

On the increase in crime rate in the country despite the increase in the number of churches, the cleric observed that salvation is personal and as such not everyone in the church is a Christian.

He maintained that true genuine pastors would not relent in preaching God’s word as it remains the only means sinners can be transformed to saints.

Apostle Igiehon revealed that the Holy Spirit was essential in today’s church as it helps people to activate their Christian faith and to be in the consciousness of God’s presence.

He called for caution when things are not going right in one’s life, noting that some of the signs that one is under a curse are when one work hard but no result is found.

While observing that various reasons could be responsible for curse in one’s life, he cited the case of Reuben in the Bible whose father pronounced a curse upon him because he slept with his father’s wife.

The cleric identified ways through which curses could be broken to include believing in the name of Jesus Christ, being prayed for by a servant of God and by revoking every curse that was on one’s life by praying for oneself.

Apostle Igiehon who spoke shortly after the Easter celebration observed that the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ liberate man from the power of sin.

He reminded Christians that being in grace was not a license to sin.

The apostle stated “If you are in Christ Jesus, you can’t hurt your neighbour. But it is because you are not in Christ Jesus that you hurt your neighbour, that is why you can steal from your neighbour, that is why you can do your neighbour harm. That is why you can use witchcraft to bewitch your neighbour.”

He called on all those who are yet to give their life to Jesus Christ to do so in order to be partakers of the salvation of God brought to mankind through the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.
