Angry tenant stone landlord to death over heated argument in Delta

Tension is currently brewing at Ozoro, Delta State,  as an angry tenant who became aggressive over heated arguments allegedly stoned his landlord to death  

The incident which occurred on Monday at hospital road, Ozoro came to residents of the area as a rude shock.

According to an eyewitness’ accounts, the landlord who was simply identified as Mr Monday was on the premises to draw rent from the tenant when the ugly incident.

Advocate.ng gathered from vanguard report that the arguments which spark off into fierce battle leading to the death of the landlord were as a result of electricity bill which both were trying to resolve.

“In the heat of the argument, the tenant hit the landlord’s head with a stone; the landlord collapsed and died on the spot”, a source who sought anonymity, said.

Another source, however, said the argument was a result of a misunderstanding between the landlord and the tenant over electricity bills.

Contacted, Police Public Relations Officer of the state command, Mr. Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident and said an arrest had been made.
