Adjogbe to Rotary Club: I have always been drawn to humanitarian service

Former Executive Director Projects of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC and Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Engr Dr Samuel Adjogbe, FNSE has commended the Rotary Club of Ughelli Metropolis on its relentless drive towards humanitarian services.

Adjogbe stated this on Thursday in his Evwreni Country home in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, during a courtesy call by District Governor, Rtn Andy Owojeya and some of his executive members accompanied by the leadership and members of the Rotary Club, Ughelli Metropolis, District 9141.

He appreciated the honour and privilege given to him to serve humanity through the Rotary International platform.

Rtn Engr Dr Samuel Adjogbe noted that service to humanity has been part of him even before joining the club and it has doubled ever since he joined the club.

He also told the District Governor and his entourage that through Samuel Adjogbe Foundation, he has contributed immensely to humanitarian services.

The APC chieftain also applauds the club for helping to manage the foundation’s scholarship scheme since 2019 and urged the club to reach out to him whenever is set for other humanitarian projects in the district.

Speaking earlier, the District Governor, Rtn Andy Owojeya noted that the aim of the visit was to familiarize themselves with the host and appreciate his efforts in changing the narrative of the Rotary Club, Ughelli Metropolis in District 9141.

He added that Rtn Engr Dr Samuel Adjogbe has featured prominently in major donations in the history of the Rotary Club in the district which has helped to facilitate Rotary humanitarian projects around the world.

He appealed to the former EDP NDDC to keep up with the good work he has started in rendering selfless service to humanity.

The visit also featured the induction of the Aide to the Former Executive Director Projects, Mr Ughere Daniel into the Rotary Club, Ughelli Metropolis, District 9141 by the District Governor.

In the delegation of the Rotary club are; the District Governor, Rtn Andy Owojeya, District Director of Protocol, Rtn Heroe Obinna Emmanuel, District Secretary, Rtn Billy Onothue, Assistant District Governor, Rtn Emuobonuvie Enamuotor, Current President of the Ughelli Metropolis, Rtn Cyril Unukevwere, Immediate past President of the Metropolis, Rtn Clementina Ejabefio.

Others were Rtn Grace Alpodiete, Rtn Florence Umugbe, Rtn. Monday Ugbenu, Rtn Tony Joshua, Rtn Pius Ikumale, Rtn. Itiwhe kesiena, Rtn. Akpevwe Paul Aloba and the rest of them.
