Montego donates transformer; gives scholarship to host community

As part of its corporate social responsibility in giving back to the society, Montega Upstream Services Ltd has donated a 500KVA transformer to Igbeku community, Amukpe, in Sapele local government area of Delta State.

 

The gesture according to the Chief Executive Officer of the company, Mr. Owuze Nwuche told newsmen that the gesture is part of the company’s numerous projects across the country to improve the electricity power supply and give quality education to the indigenes in the host community.

 

Mr. Nwuche while expressing deep satisfaction to Igbeku community, asserted that Montego Upstream Services Ltd. thank them for their total commitment and unalloyed support towards sustaining the relationship over the years, maintaining that, the synergy between the company and its host community will continue to expand aimed at attracting more developmental projects to Igbeku community and Sapele in general.

 

His words” we are here today November 20,2020 to officially commission a 500KVA electricity transformer to boost the power supply in Igbeku Community “.

 

He added” Montego Upstream Services Ltd. as an oil and gas company also renders other services with special focus in giving back to the our host communities; and as a company, we believe so much in the CSR by carrying our host communities along “.

 

Similarly, two indigent students from the host community, Miss Joy Idegbe and Miracle Enughune were also awarded scholarships by Montego Upstream Services Ltd. to sturdy in their various higher institutions.

 

Speaking on behalf of Igbeku Community, the CLO, Mr. Godwin Kebugbe and the Light Community Chairman, Mr. Ipemu Felix both expressed pleasure at the manner in which Montego Upstream Services Ltd. responded to the community via the provision of the electricity transformer, the scholarship among others developmental and commendable projects in the community.

 

They added that this gesture will cement the cordial relationship between the community and the company.

 

Present at the ceremony include; Ms. Kenechukwu Okafor, Head, Corporate Communications, Motengo Upstream Services Ltd., representatives from the Duke of Sapele/Okpe Community, Executives of Igbeku Community, youths and women of the Host community among others.
