Group urges Legal Practitioner Privileges Committee to discard Gbagi’s petition against Mrakpor

A Human Right group, Conference for the Actualization of Human Right (CAHR) has urged Legal Practitioner Privileges Committee to discard Chief Kenneth Gbagi petition against Mr. Peter Mrakpor seeking to stop the conferment of the prestigious rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria on Mrakpor.

The group in a letter dated 12th October 2020, signed its Director-General,  Barr Omes Ogedegbe addressed to the Secretary, Legal Practitioner Privileges Committee, Supreme Court of Nigeria; it therefore urged the Committee not to take Gbagi seriously as his petition was written in bad fate.

They also accused the former Minister of state of education of boasted of using his personal relationship with the Chief Justice of the Federation (CJN) in ensuring the process of conferment of SAN on Mr. Peter Mrakpor is halted.

According to the group, the said Gbagi’s petition dated the 5th day of October, 2020 served on this highly dignified committee is not only “lacking in merit but an act of desperation taken too far.

“It is very appalling that Chief Kenneth Gbagi could have the effrontery to write a petition to this prestigious committee at a time he ought to be defending the criminal allegations against him as he is possibly living in the dark days where wealth is might.

“It is foolhardy on the part of Chief Kenneth Gbagi to accuse Mr. Mrakpo of sponsoring this case against him as one begins to wonder if the same Mr. Peter Mrakpo was responsible for sponsoring the case reported against the said Kenneth Gbagi by one Miss. Lucky Obire alleging a case of hostage-taking, kidnapping and armed robbery against Chief Kenneth Gbagi.

It is a truism that he who goes to equity must go with clean hands hence it is imperative that the LPPC must know the profile of the individual (Gbagi) that is presenting the petition before it. The said Chief Kenneth Gbagi when properly described is notorious in acts of infraction on rights of citizens whom he perceived to be financially weak.

Suffice to state, the said Miss. Lucky Abire was held hostage by the said Chief Kenneth Gbagi and like the ex- four staffs was made to empty her account at the instance of Chief Kenneth Gbagi. The copy of the petition to the commissioner of police Delta state in this regard is annexed hereto.

Amongst the numerous petitions against Chief Kenneth Gbagi is that of Chief Raymond Anozie currently pending before the Commissioner of Police, Delta State also annexed hereto?

We urge you therefore to discountenance the said petition which at best qualifies as the Shakespeare article of a story told by an idiot full of sound and fury yet signifying nothing.
