Christmas: Nmah enjoins Deltans to promote peace this season

In the spirit of the yuletide the Chairman Delta State Investments Development Agency (DIDA) has called on all well-meaning Deltans to embrace peace and obey constituted authorities.

 

The DIDA boss, Hon. Paul Nmah made this call in an interview with newsmen in his office at Asaba, stressing that peace is a panacea for economic and industrial growth.

Speaking at the backdrop of the announcement by the Delta State Government on the new wave of the COVID-19 Pandemic, Nmah reiterated that Deltans should adhere to the guidelines as stipulated by the State Government.

 

He said that the Government is mindful of the fact that the interest of the masses is a priority, so it had made it a top priority to protect lives and property through the engendering of a cordial relationship between the law enforcement agencies and the people.

 

According to him a peaceful society will generate development and attract meaningful progress in various business endeavors.

 

He noted that notwithstanding the challenges of the current year the Government of His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa had been forthright in delivering the dividends of democracy as encapsulated in the SMART Agenda policy.

 

Nmah said that although the times are tough DIDA in the year under review has been able to facilitate major investments including; the new Ogbeogonogo Ultra-Modern Market, Asaba Ultra-Modern Mechanic Village and Auto Parts which will be ready for commissioning by mid next year, construction of new Tanker Park at Effurun to ease traffic congestion, the Umunede Rest Park and the about to be commenced, Transmission Tower Manufacturing & Testing, Industrial Fabrication and Hot Dip Galvanization Facility at Issele-Uku in Aniocha North Local Government area of Delta State.

 

Also DIDA devoted more concentration towards the Agro Industrial Park to make sure that within the coming year major agricultural anchor tenants would have invested enough to bring it up to the State Government expectation, enough to generate employment and also boost the State IGR, Nmah further stated.

 

In similar vein a major rice mill and dairy farm investor have today showed interest to invest in the State and we have progressed discussions in view of actualizing the project, he said.

 

Also Nmah said that DIDA had concluded discussions with a Turkish investor to set up a large Garment Production Factory in the State.

 

He stated that the Power Gas Ltd 20million US dollars Gas Plant at Ebedei in Ndokwa East Local Government Area of Delta State which was attracted by DIDA is now ready for commissioning by His Excellency in the coming year.

 

We will continue to ensure that we uphold our mandates as an investment promotion and facilitating Agency and we promise that the coming year will witness greater investment prospects for the State, Nmah said.

 

The DIDA boss said he rejoiced with Deltans and stakeholders this festive period and called on all to exude love and peace which are the basics of the season’s celebration.

 

“We hope that 2021 will be a year of commissioning and ground breaking of investment projects attracted by DIDA by His Excellency Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa.

 

I pray for a fruitful year 2021 filled with greater prospects for the State and all our existing and potential investors”. Nmah stressed.
