Mariere, a People Democratic Party (PDP), House of Representative hopeful for Ughelli North, Ughelli South and Udu federal constituency got the unanimous endorsement from hundreds of youths and community leaders in Egini Community during his campaign visit to the community.

The two time Delta State House Assembly lawmaker used the platform to give account of his stewardship to the people, outlined his empowerment programs as well as bills he sponsored.

According to him, “Ughelli North,  Ughelli South and Udu federal Constituency is a very strategic constituency. Our voting population is one of the largest in the country, but we are not getting the benefits of our votes.

“If you look at Bayelsa State,  our voting population is more than that of the whole state,  but Bayelsa has 6 house of representatives seats, why we have just one, this is so because of lack of adequate representation from our past representatives, if not we should have at least 3 house of representative.

He added that Nigerians should put sentiments aside saying, “If Nigeria is not restructured; there will be war in the country, and this restructuring should start from the National assembly.

“I am urging you to send someone that has the courage of speaking up for the interest of our people, someone that has the knowledge of lawmaking and someone smart.

“PDP selected me as their candidate to represent this constituency because the person that has been representing us has failed.

“When you look at my record as a member of the House of Assembly, the project I have put in place are uncountable, every community you visit in my constituency has a project, the House of Assembly is guided by laws, in the aspect of bills, I have sponsored 23 bills, out of the 23 bills, the governor has signed 14 into laws, because I know what I am doing.

“I am a lawyer and lawmaking runs in my blood, recall that my father in 1963 moved a motion that lead to the creation of Mid-West State, and my focus is more on the women and through my empowerment program, I have empowered over 500 women mostly traders with over #100,000 to boast their business.

Vice Chairman of Egini Community, Mr. Mid-West Watah while addressing members of the community, further encouraged them to double their effort in ensuring victory for the party ahead of the general election.

In a brief chat with newsmen, Comrade Kenneth Sisi assured Mariere of the community’s support, stressing the need for commitment to electing PDP candidates by the community.

“The decision to host this visit was Urgent. The community was in political disarray before this meeting. Many people were aggrieved before now but all that has been resolved, we have all agreed not to only ensure the victory of Mariere but to win very convincingly,  he said. “
