PG, Urhobo Rebirth Congress felicitates with Nigerians on Yuletide

Task DTSG on proper management of its Agricultural/ Educational policies

By Ovasa Ogaga,

The President General of Urhobo Rebirth Congress, Comrade Ogheneochuko Stephen has felicitated with Urhobos, Deltans and Nigerians in particular in the spirit of this year’s Christmas and the coming New Year celebrations, just as he appealed for peaceful co-existence amongst all citizens of this Nation.

Comrade Ogheneochuko who addressed journalists at Effurun in Uvwie local government area of Delta State urged all Nigerians to love themselves and be their brothers’ keepers in the coming New Year and
refrain from acts that are inimical to the development of the Country.

He advised Nigerians to support all policies of the President Whom he said is poised to transform the country and never to put their disappointed or blames on Him.

The PG advised Mr. President to do all he can by transforming the entire length of this country through equitable distribution of infrastructural development across the six geo-political zones of Nigeria ensuring that in the coming New Year, all forms of insurgency, lawlessness; crisis across the country is halted.

Comrade Ogheneochuko appealed to members of States and National houses of Assemblies that as from next year, they should always make good laws that would be beneficial to Nigerians and as well use cash meant for their constituency projects very well but not for their selfish
interest.

He enjoined all traditional rulers in Urhobo land to work together in harmony by appointing one President General and not the current “situation where we found ourselves with two president Generals and you are confused without knowing the one to run to whenever there is any issue confronting you.”

The PG advised them further “All our traditional rulers in Urhobo land should try to bring their people together, teach them our customs, culture and traditions that is already fading away and at the
verge of extinction.  Take for instance many of our children can no longer speak our language but if you give birth to them in another land, they speak the language of where they are born fluently. This
is not good at all. Our Urhobo leaders should do something, “he lamented.

The PG while commending the Governor of Delta State, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa for aggressively transforming the state in terms of good road networks, peace across the state, workers welfare and other infrastructural development, lamented that the agricultural and educational sectors have suffered some set back.

He appealed to the government of Delta State through the Ministry of education to visit schools across the state where he claims that “as I talk to you now, many of the schools we visited, children still
buy chalks, books. Their parents were in many instances forced to buy roofing sheets and woods to mend linking roofs”

” This act you see, has negated the true principle of free educational  policy of this administration  and the government should speedily come out and do something about this. Even if they may not be aware of this development in these schools, I, and my team are ready to take them round the schools which I am talking about” he added.

He also appealed to the government of Delta state to give massive support to farmers in the state so that Delta could be regarded as one of the best agricultural producing states in the country like Benue, Edo   Cross River’s etc, to remove the people from starvation remarking that the oil sector has dwindled and could no longer be relied upon.

Comrade Ogheneochuko appealed further to Governments” to go in to the grassroots by meeting the farmers themselves and never to disburse cash to them through politicians or other third parties who often times converts such monies into personal use thereby depriving government’s and real farmers from its original plan.”
