OERAF commissions water project in Delta to mark its anniversary

Olotu & Ekuogbe Rowland Akpodiete Foundation (OERAF) has commissioned a Potable Water Project in Ogbavweni Grammar School, Usiefrun, Ughelli South LGA to mare their one year anniversary, of the establishment of the foundation.

The project which was commissioned by the Executive Director of OERAF, Dr. Olotu Akpodiete accompanied by Deacon Ogaga Ohwojero, Director of Operations, the school principal, Mrs. Rose Ofemu, Secretary General of Usiefrun Community, Mr. Julius Edoja, and other community leaders and indigenes.

Mr. Edoja Secretary General of Usiefrun Community while appreciating the Foundation for the gestures commended Foundation for adding value to school by providing portable drinking water and prayed that more developments will come to the community through the Foundation.

The school principal, Mrs. Rose Ofemu was excited about the water project and also prayed for the prosperity of the Foundation and urged other good spirited organization and individual to emulate the gesture of OERAF.

Miss Naweri Avwerosuo, who spoke on behalf of the students, thanked the Foundation for making them have access to portable drinking water in their school premises.

Dr. Akpodiete also appreciated Mr. Micheal Omoyovwin who drew the attention of the Foundation through social media (Facebook) to challenge being face by the school which led to the execution of the water project.

According to him, “communities can attract development to their communities through social media. He encouraged Nigerians to contribute their quota to the development of the nation, by giving back to the society, because, government alone cannot be able meet all the various communities’ needs.

The Director of Operations of the Foundation, Deacon Ogaga Ohwojero also encouraged the management of the school and community to maintain the water project, tasking them to take ownership and see the project as theirs and therefore protects it from been abused or damaged.

The Foundation also distributed note books to the students of the school and encouraged them to respect their teachers, value their education and engage in humanitarian services.

Other members of the Foundation who were present are Deaconess Mrs. Florence Enughwure, Mr. Lucky Umukoro and Mr. Elvis Agbonifo and others
