List of Appointments: Thugs brutalizes PDP chairman in Delta

The chairman of the People Democratic Party, PDP, Ward 4 in Sapele local government area of Delta State, Mr Godfrey Igbise is presently battling with his life in an undisclosed hospital after he was allegedly attacked by suspected political thugs and beaten to stupor.


Igbise, was allegedly attacked by the thugs for arguing with a PDP chieftain in the state over who should be included in appointment list to be sent to the Delta State Governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa.

According to a source who spoke to Advocate said: “Igbise was invited by the Local Government PDP Chairman, Chief Dr David Oghenekevwe to a meeting at the ward leader’s house, Chief Paulinus Akpeki house, and was invited with other leaders in other wards but during the amendment of list for appointment, he was said to have argued in favoured of certain persons as against who the party leader was projecting,” the source who craved anonymity said.

“Igbise was attacked by political thugs at his house. Three men stabbed him all over his body saying who are you to argue with our leaders and he was left in the pool of his blood, he was rushed to a nearby clinic and as we speak to you, he is struggling to stay alive” the source added.


When journalists visited the victim at the hospital, Igbise was not allowed to see them but his wife told our correspondent that, “My husband is fine, but they will not succeed in their plan to kill him over political position,” she said.


All efforts get the party spokesman to get his views on the development proved abortive as his mobile number was not connecting as at the time of filing this report.
