One of the supporters of Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Evang. Felix Ogbajini stated that Omo-Agege remains the best choice and only alternative for the Urhobo Senatorial slot, come 2019.

Ogbajini maintained that their continued support and clamour for the re-election of the Senator is not borne out of sentiments that the Senator is of the ruling Party (APC), but because he the Urhobo best option.

He stated this during interactive section with newsmen in Ughelli, recently, stressed that Omo-Agege has distinguished himself by creating a record that is very rare to attain, thereby setting a very high standard that sets him on a  pedestal that is higher than those of previous Senators that have represented the Delta Central Senatorial District in the past.

According to Ogbajini,  “the fact has been established that no previous Urhobo Senator was able to properly integrate himself and by implications the Urhobo nation as regards quality and result-oriented legislations, within such a short period of time, and as evident in his successful bills passed within a short time in the Senate — the Sexual Harassment Bill and Federal University of Petroleum Resources (FUPRE), Ogbomro Bill.

“From all indications, you could see that the Distinguished Senator Omo-Agege was fully prepared for the service to both Urhobo Nation and his fatherland, Nigeria, hence his high profile performances that have been earning him accolades and commendations across the Country.”

Adding that; “Omo-Agege is the perfect symbol of the quality representation that Urhobos have yearned for.”

The grassroots politician challenged whoever feels otherwise to show him a better candidate for the Delta Central Senatorial job in the 2019 race, saying he would support such person if he was convinced beyond reasonable doubts that that person can beat the records of Omo-Agege.

“Unfortunately, we have not seen any such credible, dependable and reliable person that can match Sen. Omo-Agege, so we are left with the very best option, which is to return him (Omo-Agege) back to the Senate come 2019.

Ogbajini who described Sen. Omo-Agege as one of the Nigeria’s high-flying Senators, said there was every reason for Urhobo people to rally round him and rejoice in the fact that, at last, Urhobo has been able to get it right by having one of the best Senators in the present Senate composition as their representative.

While pointing out that one of the biggest challenge that was facing the Urhobo people in the country was that of proper integration, Ogbajini stated that Sen. Omo-Agege has bridged that gap as he was able to painstakingly and tactically navigate his way into the hearts of his fellow Senators to the extent that despite the fact that he joined the 8th Senate after about 8 months of its inauguration, he was able to penetrate the system, lobbied his colleagues and got their overwhelming support to push his first two bills, which received speedy considerations on the floor of the hallowed Red chambers and subsequent assent by President Muhammadu Buhari.

“The truth remains that anyone that is familiar with legislative processes, know that it is not an easy thing to sponsor bills that receives speedy considerations and assents, because it takes a formidable Senator who is widely accepted by his colleagues to attain such feats”, Ogbajini reiterated.

He drew the attention of the Urhobo people to the Bible book of Daniel, particularly Chapter six and verse three, to buttress his point on the need for the return of Senator Omo-Agege to the National Assembly come 2019, stressing that he deserves adequate time to fully pursue and implement the blueprint of strategically positioning the Urhobo Nation to claim its pride of place as Nigeria’s fifth-largest ethnic group.

Speaking further, Evang. Ogbajini called on the Urhobo people to prepare their minds towards attaining greater heights and receiving more dividends of democracy from the Federal level through the effective representation of Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, just as he underscored the fact that the lack of a good representative in the Senate category of the National Assembly has been responsible for the backwardness and lack of adequate benefits of meaningful dividends of democracy from the Federal Government by Urhobo people.

“For Urhobo to become greater among the comity of ethnic nations in Nigeria and be strategically positioned to occupy its pride of place, we need Senator Ovie Omo-Agege again come 2019, so my simple message is that Urhobo people should be prepared to go for the best once again, come 2019; and we shall all have more reasons to smile,” Ogbajini declared.
