By Shedrack Onitsha,

A former military administrator of Kaduna State and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC Delta State, AVM Frank Adjobena (rtd) has described Prof. Pat Utomi, an APC governorship hopeful as the solution to the barrages of development challenges confronting Delta State.
Adjobena who stated this during consultation visit by Prof. Utomi to elder and leaders of APC in Okpe LGA, noted that leadership goes beyond road construction and payment of workers salaries.
According to him “I have looked forward to a day like this, and I am glad that you have shown interest to run for the governorship position of our State, now you can translate your ideas into practical solutions to solve our development challenges.
“I knew from the moments Prof. Utomi  indicated his interest to govern Delta State that the solution to the barrages of problems confronting our State will soon be over.
Ajobena stated further that Utomi has promised to tackle the most critical aspects of development, which is human capital development.
He noted that if supported, Utomi has the contacts, capacity and the know how to translate his vision to tangible development to make Delta work.
He therefore assured Utomi that the APC in Okpe “will do Everything within its powers to ensure that Utomi emerges as the party governorship candidate for the 2019 governorship election in Delta State.
Earlier,  Utomi, a development economist had told his audience that developmental  challenges facing Delta State is not insoluble, adding that the problem of the state is injustice.
He said that the problem of Delta state like many parts of Africa is leadership, therefore efforts must be made to bring on board credible leaders in the governance of the state come 2019.
Utomi while decrying what he described as “leadership recession in Africa,”  noted that building a great nation is more than roads construction.
He explained that what makes nation great is developing it’s human capital, and until Delta developed it’s youthful population and turn their energy into wealth, crime will continue to thrive in the state.
Utomi stated further that it’s saddened that the case of “Delta is like more money  less sense,” because successive leaders in the state has not translated the huge revenue to meaningful development.
