By Esada Uyono,

A frontline senatorial aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), for Delta Central Senatorial district, Chief Ighoyota Amori has said that Urhobo Nation loves Delta State Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, for his developmental strides and the numerous political appointments for sons and daughters of Urhobo Nation.

L-R Hon. Faith Majemite, Barr. Moses Odibo, DG Amori Amori for Senate 2019 campaign Organization, Chief Ighoyota Amori, PDP senatorial aspirant and Dr. Fred Oghenesivbe, Director of Media and Publicity of Amori for senate.
L-R Hon. Faith Majemite, Barr. Moses Odibo, DG Amori Amori for Senate 2019 campaign Organization, Chief Ighoyota Amori, PDP senatorial aspirant and Dr. Fred Oghenesivbe, Director of Media and Publicity of Amori for senate.

He added that the governor will voted back come 2019 because of his long history of cordial political and social relationships with leaders and good people of Urhobo ethnic nationality.

Chief Amori made the assertions at his Mosogar country home over the weekend, while addressing members of his campaign team at a retreat organised to set the campaign agenda for his 2019 senatorial ambition.

Senator Amori who is also the Political Adviser to PDP National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, noted that the type of ethnic politics which created disunity and acrimony among sons and daughters of Urbobo Nation; occasioned by the divisive Uvwiamuge Declaration, will never be allowed again so as to sustain the current peace, unity and oneness among the people.

“In 2019, we are going to be united for Gov Okowa who has shown sufficient leadership pedigree through good governance; building sustainable political and socioeconomic bridges across the three Senatorial districts.

“As a campaign team (AMORI 4 SENATE 2019), we must bear in mind that our loyalty is first to the Governor who happens to be PDP sole candidate in 2019. We must therefore take the Okowa 2019 message to our various wards, LGA and door-to-door to ensure that all eligible voters are mobilized for our governor’s landslide victory come 2019.

“Gov Okowa has promised to hand over power to Urhobo governor on May 29, 2023. This is a gentleman’s promise and it’s sacrosanct; therefore do not be deceived by the sugar coated tongue of any APC governorship aspirant or leaders who are busy for nothing talking about Urhobo agenda. Urhobo agenda will be by 2023 because Delta North two tenures must have been completed by the incumbent governor, His Excellency Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa.

“I will do all and anything within my God given abilities to give Delta Central quality representation at the Senate. Urbobo Nation is currently at the back stage in the scheme of things due to poor representation by the grossly inexperience APC Senator. I will work with other members of the red chambers to attract development and other dividends of democracy to Delta State and Delta Central.

“I deeply appreciate your commitment and I count on your continuous support, hard work and political advocacy in your respective ward and LGAs. What we have learnt here today shall be built upon from time to time.

“This campaign organisation is the first ever to organise a retreat in this dispensation, thereby setting the pace for other senatorial aspirant (s) to follow. We are a pacesetter campaign family which is why Delta Central Senatorial District shall experience the best of representation during my tenure from May 29, 2019, by the Grace of God,” Amori said.

In his remarks, the Director General of the campaign Organization, Elegbete Barrister Moses Odibo, urged the various Directorates and their members to avoid unnecessary attacks on other aspirants within the PDP family, adding that a house divided against itself can not stand.

“Be good ambassadors of Amori for Senate 2019 campaign Organization. We must avoid petty squabbles and use of abusive language in our political discuss both within and in the public or in materials sent to media organisations as well as posts and comments on social media.

“The Director of Media and Publicity must ensure that members of his directorate exhibits acceptable standard while communicating with the public via the mass media. We must not demonize other aspirants within the PDP family and we expect that decorum to play out from our opponents, party men and women supporting various aspirants.

“It is our collective responsibility to make this campaign Organization put up a proactive, highly effective and result oriented campaign to ensure the landslide victory of our Principal, Chief Ighoyota Amori, come 2019.

“It is obvious from the journey so far that Chief Amori is the top contender and very soon other aspirants or aspirant shall collapse their structures into Amori team to send the APC Senator back to his Orogun family compound on May 29, 2019,” Odibo assured.
