PPEB, ANCOPSS Sapele zone organises sent-forth for Mrs Omeru

The Post Primary Education Board, Sapele Zonal Office, Sapele local government area, Delta State, in conjunction with the All Nigeria Consideration of Principals of Secondary School (ANCOPSS) on Thursday organized sent-forth party for Mrs. Hannah Asarariebe Omeru, the Permanent Secretary, Post Primary Education Board Asaba, Delta State.

Speaking at the ceremony, which held at Chude Girl’s Model Secondary School Sapele, Dame Cathy Oge, the Chairperson of the occasion, described Mrs Omeru as a quiet, resourceful, a no-nonsense, God fearing and a seasoned administrator, that God has used to touch lives.

Oge urged the new Permanent Secretary to use her current position to better the lot of teachers in the state.

According to her, “You were once in charge of Sapele zone, but now you have been promoted to the right position. We want you to use your position to help the teachers, we don’t want half salaries, our retirees are suffering, some have not been paid for the past five years, and I speak on retirees and future retirees. God gives you the wisdom to lead your people aright,” she added.

Dame Oge, however, advised principals and teacher present at the ceremony to put in their best, by showing love, manage, build and treat the students like their biological children, so that they will be better citizens of the country.

Speaking also, the Director, PPEB zonal Office Sapele, Mrs. Margaret Ogheneovo Basil-Iwhiwhu described Mrs. Omeru as a generous and very confident in all her endeavour.

According to her, “Her attitude to work affected the staff of the board, principals and teachers positively towards effective teaching and learning. She participated actively in monitoring of schools to ensure that principals, teachers and students are at school. She is very meticulous in the discharge of her functions and all teachers should emulate her.” she said.

In her response, the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Hannah Omeru thanked God for the opportunity to serve as the PS and also promised to work harder in order to sustain the success recorded so far.

She also thanked the directors for a successful sent-forth and encouraged them to carry out instructions and do their work diligently, adding that they should adopt the ICT (Integrity, Commitment and Teamwork) method in all they do.

The ceremony featured novelty football match, welcome songs, cultural dances, playlet, farewell songs, short exaltation and presentation of gifts.

The occasion was well attended by Directors from zonal offices, chairman of ANCOPSS Sapele chapter, CIE in Sapele local government area, principals and teacher from various schools, Corp members from Sapele zone, among others.
