Okpe Youth Council inaugurated the Sapele chapter

The Okpe Youth Council, OYC, Sapele wing recently inaugurated its Sapele chapter of the body, at the Okpe hall, Olympia in Sapele local government area of Delta State.

The National President of Okpe Youth Council, Hon Harrison Ekeleme charged the Excos to work assiduously towards the development of the Okpe nation adding that their destination is to train the minds and character of the youths, fostering a sense of belonging amongst them, providing empowering avenue for the Okpe youths that will take them off the streets and reduce crime rates to the barest minimum.

Ekeleme while addressing the youths during the inauguration, said “Okpe Youth Council is the apex umbrella body of Okpe youths in Nigeria and in diaspora that is saddled with the responsibility to bring the 13 administrative districts of Okpe Kingdom youth together for Unity, Peace, progress and development.

“This council is a call to action, and we are a non-partisan political group that comprises of bright, discipline and courageous Okpe sons and daughters cutting across the 13 administrative districts in Okpe kingdom with the headquarters at Orerokpe, he added.

He however asked the newly inaugurated executive members of Okpe youth council Sapele district to conduct themselves in line with the aims and objectives of OYC which are; “to ensure peace and unity, promote education, culture and socio-economic development, seek the interest and welfare of the youths, provide enabling environment that will attract investors, good governance and organize seminars that is geared towards youth empowerment in Okpe kingdom”.

“I enjoin you all to be loyal to your kingdom, district and community because the best thing one can do for his people is to serve them honestly and faithfully” he said.

The President General of Okpe Union Council World Wide, Chief Robert Onome speaking at the occasion, describes the youth president, Hon Harrison Ekeleme as satisfactory. “We are satisfied with what the youth president is doing in the entire Okpe community and we want all the youths to team up with the elders to move Okpe kingdom forward”.

High Chief Robert Onome also advised those inaugurated to assemble together to make the union strong and empower the 13 districts.

The meeting was well attended and those inaugurated are,  Elohor Ogodo Coordinator, Perkins Otugawo Deputy Coordinator, Akoko Arusuayene Secretary, Tive Esaghare Treasurer, Aghogho Onomor financial secretary, Igberabja  Serumu organizing secretary, Legbes Ogodo Provost, Mude Ovwigho Spokesman,  Sarah Ayomanor  Woman leader, Igho Williams Ishaka P.R.O, Friday Otughwo  Mobilization director.
