Okowa to hold town hall meeting at Bomadi, Ughelli, inspects projects a day ago

Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa will today, Thursday, March 15 holds a town hall meeting with the people of Ughelli town in Ughelli Local Government Area.

According to a statement made available to newsmen, the meeting is scheduled to hold by 10:0am at Our Lady of the Waters Catholic Cathedral, Bomadi and 1:00pm at the Kingdom Hall, Ughelli.

Meanwhile the governor was at Ughelli yesterday, Wednesday 14, 2018 where he assured that all technical schools in the state will soon assume international standards.

Speaking at the Palace of Ovie of Ughelli Kingdom, HRM, Dr. Wilson Oharisi III immeafaitely after inspecting blocks of classrooms under construction at Eni Grammar School, Evwreni, reconstruction and equipping of Ogor Technical College, Otor-Ogor, construction of Royal Avenue/Prince Oharisi Drive, Goverment Secondary, Ekuigbo-Ughelli, and Orherhe/Otokutu road in Ughelli North Local Goverment Area, Dr. Okowa said the technical colleges are presently moving from training to production. Dr. Okpwa also inspected the on-going rehabilitation work of the Urban Water Scheme, General Hospital, Ultra-modern market and the reinforced concrete pavement embarked upon by his administration at Bomadi in Bomadi Local Government Council of the state.

In his speech,” We are here to inspect projects being executed bu this administration, last week we commissioned some road projects,” he said, adding that, “We inspected the technical colleges and we discovered that they are of the same standard with the ones at Sapele, Agbor, Ofagbe and other places because we are committed to equipping our children in order to acquire skill which will further equipped them in future, the schools are going beyond just training but to be involved in production.

Dr. Okowa who was accompanied by his deputy, Barr. Kingsley Otuaro, top political office holders and other top government functionaries appreciated the traditional rulers for making the state conducive for development to take place.

According to him, “the support of our royal fathers is wonderful, it has done a lot for us to deliver good governance for our people, with the peace that exists in your kingdoms, we have the opportunity to work for our people, without peace, we will be distracted.”


“It is our prayers that we remain as a peaceful state,” the Governor emphasized, while in an interview after the inspection of projects, expressing satisfaction with the pace and quality of work done at the project sites.


He disclosed that the contractor handling the renovation of Government Hospital, Bomadi has been urged to execute the projects in phases to ensure that skeletal services were rendered at the hospital while construction work was on.
HRM Oharisi III observed that Ughelli Kingdom has received unprecedented developmental projects since Omowa became the governor of the state and urged the Governor not to relent in his efforts to develop the state.


He thanked Governor Okowa for his sincerity and unity of purpose, stating that the people are in support of his administration.
HRM Oghenekevwe Kumane, Eruvwedede III, the Ovie of Evwereni also, commended Governor Okowa’s administration for the spread of people-oriented projects across the state.
