My appearance before N’Assembly will be determine by my lawyers— Omo-Agege

Senator Barr.  Ovie Omo-Agege representing  Delta Central Senatorial District in the upper chamber of the National Assembly has said that his appearance before the Joint Senate and House of Representatives committee investigating the attack on the Senate’s chamber and theft of the mace can only be determine by his lawyers.

                                   Senator Ovie Omo-Agege

Omo-Agege, while speaking with Journalists, denied knowing the hoodlums that carried out the attack.

The Senate had, on April 12, suspended Omo-Agege for 90 legislative days for dragging the chamber before the court over the amendment to the Electoral Act 2010 which seeks to reshuffle the sequence of polls during a general election.

With the suspension still on, Senator Omo-Agege attended plenary on April 18 when his  appearance at the chamber coincided with the time suspected thugs invaded the Senate chamber while plenary was ongoing and made away with the mace.

Asked if he was ready to testify before the panel, Omo-Agege said, “I don’t know anything about any mace. If I receive any invitation, my lawyers will advise me and I will act accordingly. I know nothing about any mace.”
