Matrix Energy appeals to state govt to fix road leading to area of operation

The management of Matrix Energy Limited, a major oil and gas Indigenous company in Nigeria has called on the Delta State Government to urgently fixed the road leading to Ifie Community, host community to Matrix Energy Limited begining from Shaguolo Junction to Deeper Life Junction in order to avoid incessant gridlock caused by tankers daily.

Mr. Frederick Otone Olomuro, Matrix Group Head of Health, Safety, Security and Environment, HSSE who stood in for the Head of Operation of the company made the appeal on Thursday, March 8, at the company premises at Ifie community in Warri South LGA, when he played host to members of the Indigenous Correspondents Chapel ICC, of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, Delta State Council who paid the company a courtesy visit.
Mr. Olomuro noted that motorists and residents in the area experienced a lot of stress on daily basis as a result of the failed portion beginning from Shaguolo junction stretching to Deeper Life Junction, this he said; slow down the movements of tankers and trucks thereby causing gridlock in the area. The safety boss also disclosed that the road has been awarded by the state government but was later abandoned.
Earlier in his address, the chairman of the Indigenous Correspondents Chapel ICC, Barth Ozah stated that the main reason for the visit is to say thank you to the management of Matrix Energy Limited for its contribution to the well being of Nigerians especially at the time of fuel scarcity. In his words, “Matrix Energy Limited in the time of difficulty never abandoned the citizens but ensure petroleum products is dispensed to the public at the government approved pump price”. A gesture he said is highly commendable and urged the Energy company to keep it up.
In his response, Mr. Olomuro thanked the Journalists on behalf of the company for their honest observation and disclosed that one of the company major policy is to serve the society satisfactorily.
He maintained that whether there is scarcity or not, Matrix Energy is committed to delivering a better services even though they are a private company. He added that the company will continue to maintain its status que by supporting the masses and promise to always liaise with the media for promotion of its image in the society.
He further assured of the company readiness to assist in building and developing the nation. Any way we can, we will always contribute, he said. He however called on the relevant authority to ensure bunkering activities in the area is curbed as it not only endangers the environment but also endangers human lives, aquatic life and even the underground water.
