Delta APC: We fought to liberate party from political merchant- Omo-Agege

SENATOR Ovie Omo-Agege, representing Delta Central in the National Assembly and aspirant for the Delta Central senatorial district has said that the Delta APC is faced with internal crisis because they refused to allow power to rest in the hands of political merchants who will sell the party to the opponents.
Speaking in Ughelli, headquarters of Ughelli North Local Government Area on Monday, September 25 during the consultative visit of the APC Governorship hopeful, Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru to  elders, delegates and leaders in Delta Central, Senator Omo-Agege disclosed, that it is a fact that they have been championing for Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru to become the governor of Delta State, toes have been stepped on. He said, they have step people who were hitherto their friends.
He stated that there is a major reason while Chief Great Ogboru should be voted for and be supported. “We are not supporting him because he is an Urhobo man”, he revealed.
The former Secretarty to the Delta State Government, maintained that, the people of Delta Central are privileged and lucky to have Chief Great Ogboru as one of their own.
Disclosing while he is supporting Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru, Senator Omo-Agege noted that they are supporting him because he is the only man who can win the governorship election for the APC as a party. “Anyone who knows about politics of Delta State, anyone who knows that politics is not Olympics, in Olympics there is joy in participating, while in politics there is joy in winning as there is no second position in politics. It is either you are a winner or a looser”.
Senator Omo-Agege who admitted that there different factions in the APC, stated that they have been waging a serious war in the APC here in Delta State. He said they are not at war because they dislike their brothers and sisters in the other side, but because they want to make sure the machinery of the party is not rested in the hands of political merchants.
Stressing  while they  aligned with Chief Great Ogboru vision, he said “there is time for joke and there is a time to be serious, hence we have chosen not to dignify the opponents but to have our eyes fixed on the ball.
Affirming the strength of an incumbent, Senator Omo-Agege said; “We know that to defeat Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, we need somebody who have vote on the ground, and of all who are contesting the governorship election today, only one man, Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru  has the vote on ground”.
Ogboru have been wining election:
Corroborating the statement earlier made by the former speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Monday Igbuya, the Delta Central Senatorial aspirant affirmed that Chief Ogboru have always won all the elections he has contested.
“Like my brother, the former speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Monday Igbuya just said, we know who have been winning election in Delta State. We know why they have not been declaring him.  As you know, it is one thing to win election and another thing to have the contestant declared.
While calling on delegates to vote wisely and support Chief Great Ogboru, come September 29, the Delta Central APC Senatorial aspirant said, like the biblical Joshua who gathered the entire families of Israel to take a decision, but before he did that he said; “as for me and my family we will serve the lord”, so too, he said; “As for me  and my supporters, we are determine that on Saturday, we are going to cast our votes for Chief Great Ogboru.
The APC Delta Central consultation visit of Chief Great  Ogboru attracted a mammoth crowd of party faithful, supporters, friends and well wishers from across the state including an array of House of Representative Aspirants, State Houses of Assembly Aspirants from different local government, Constituencies as well APC leaders and elders including the State Chairman, Prophet Jones Erue, Delta Central APC Chairman, Chief Barr.  Adelabu Bodjor and Chief Frank  Kokori.
Also present at the consultation turn rally were Rt. Hon. Monday Igbuya, former speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Halims Agoda and many others.
