Darah endorses Oboro for Delta Central Senatorial seat

A Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Delta state, Prof. Godwin Darah has endorsed the member representing Okpe, Sapele, Uvwie Federal Constituency in House of representatives, Hon. Evelyn Omavowan Oboro for the Delta Central senatorial seat come 2019.

Darah who made the endorsement during Hon. Evelyn Oboro consultation visit to his residence in Ovwian, described Hon. Oboro as a smart, young, experienced and well-educated person that can represent Delta central at the red chamber.

According to Darah, “I have meticulously accessed all the aspirants jostling for the position of the Delta central senatorial seat come 2019 and picked you (Hon. Evelyn Oboro Esq.) as the best among them because your records and achievements as a former minority leader of the Uvwie Legislative Arm, executive chairman of Uvwie Local Government Council, former member of the Delta State Universal Basic Education Board, former member of the Delta State Waste Management Board and second term serving member of the Federal House of representatives are unquantifiable”.

He said, “since the People’s Democratic Party has not been getting it right with all the candidates it parades in the past in Delta central senatorial district, it is time we chose a woman as our candidate ahead of the general election to enable PDP get it right come 2019”.

Earlier on her part, Hon. Evelyn Oboro enumerated her achievements to include several motions and bills to her credit adding  that Mr. President has signed two of her bills (FUPRE Bill and the Legislative Houses (Powers and Privileges) Act).

She added that as a House of representatives member, representing Okpe, Sapele, Uvwie Federal Constituency, she attracted developmental projects to her constituency, which includes, Solar Water projects, health centres, provision of transformers, buying of over 40 cars, 300 tricycles, grinding machines, barbing kits, sewing machines, power generating sets, deep freezers, classrooms blocks and other infrastructural projects through NDDC and other government agencies.

Oboro who said she will attract more developmental projects to Delta central senatorial district if voted for as a senator come 2019, promised to tackle the Fulani herdsmen problem in some Urhobo communities and empower more women and youths because according to her, “empowerment of youths and women in Delta central will bring about unity and peace in Urhobo”.
