Sapele Residents Commend Emerhor on Ireto Road Construction

Sapele residents have commended the leader of All Progressive Congress, APC and the 2015 governorship candidate, Olorogun Ot’ega Emerhor for taking up the construction of the 3km Ireto road abandoned over 10 years now.

It will be recalled that the construction of the road was awarded to a notable politician in Sapele by Delta State government and money voted for the job severally but was allegedly embezzled by the politician.

 

Our investigation also revealed that in the build up to the 2015 general election, the politician allegedly mobilized to sit promising to complete should the people vote for him, however, he abandoned the road immediately he was re-elected.

 

Commending the gesture, the President and Chief Executive Officer, Felix Anirah Foundation, Chief Felix Anirah, noted that the intervention by Emerhor to construct the Ireto road would saved property owners and the businesses in the area.

 

He added that, “If Emerhor, a private citizen could take it upon itself to construct Ireto road which Delta State government abandoned over 10 years ago, it is a commendable gesture.

 

He therefore, urged wealthy Deltans to emulate the good gesture of Olorogun Emerhor, adding that the development of Delta State cannot be left in the hand on government alone, but through collective effort of a well meaning Deltans.

 

Expressing their joy, residents of the area, Sir Friday Agbajor, Mrs. Esther Onokpasa both retired principals and Chief Johnson Kogoro,   commended Emerhor saying that his effort have save them from endless anguished they go through every day on the road.

 

Others speaking, the woman leader of St. Joseph Chosen Church of God International, Deaconess Ekeh Goodluck and a member of the church Mr Amo Tadaferua,  were full of joy, saying that God has finally answered their prayer through Emerhor’s intervention.
