Quest FM consultant in sexual harassment tango with female staff, sacks three

The Chief Operating Officer/Consultant of Honey Wave Communication Investment Ltd, owners of Quest FM, Mr. Sam Odinhiri popularly known as Sammie who was allegedly involved in an office romance with an On Air Presenter (OAP) of the station, Divine Ighovie, has been accused of spearheading the sack of three other OAPs in the station over their refusal to yield to his sexual advances.

Mr. Odinhiri who is married is alleged to have a philandering desire for office romance, hence his sexual exploit on female staff of Quest FM who are single, who he pick at will and anyone who fails to comply, he wields sack stick on them.

Sam, the computer science graduate from the University of Benin, is the “consultant” to the media outfit and the defector owner of the station as his word is bond in the station despite the fact that he lacks the managerial skill to man the establishment, according to staff of the media house.

After his sexual exploit with a female staff of the station who was sacked in December following a clash with the said staff and another of his girlfriend who he claimed to be his wife, a source at the station disclosed that he picked a new female staff of the establishment whom he had since promoted to a top editorial staff of the station.

However, trouble started again at the station last week over an office gossip that the same Sammy, had stashed some monies fraudulently acquired from former first lady, Damn Patience Jonathan who it is rumoured he has a close affinity with.

Suspecting foul play, management of the station led by its CEO Mr. Gregory Edor in company of Sam, illegally hacked into the Facebook account of two of the company’s staff where their personal conversations were printed out with Sammie claiming both staff, one of whom has resigned, has defamed him based on their conversation.

The station went further, to arrest both staff and detained them at the Ughelli Area Command despite the fact that one of the staff is a nursing mother and they were later released on bail after they were made to pay N45, 000 pending a petition of defamation against them.

However, the controversy rocking the station climaxed this week with the sack of all the OAPs and Disk Jockeys (DJ) in the station.

According to the letter of termination of appointment signed by Mr. Greg Edor on behalf of Honey Waves Communication Investment Ltd, owners of Quest FM, the company accused the staff of sabotage and removing a dongle from the live studio system, an allegation the sacked staff referred to as “giving a dog a bad name just to hang it.”

The letter reads, “In view of the unsatisfactory outcome of several interrogative chat sessions management held with you, bothering on the removal of the dongle from the live studio system, which is an established case of sabotage in your unit, we regret to inform you that your appointment is hereby terminated with immediate effect.”

Those fired include; Itohan Ekpemiata aka Baroness, Goodlife Atevure aka Goodlife the Spectacular and Ifeoluwa Robert aka Ife.

The station also wielded the big stick on both DJ’s in the station, DJ Pato E. and DJ Barrock.

Meanwhile, other OAPs like Omatesye Atsenuwa, Ben Lawson, Mudiaga Asagba and a host of others, had since resigned their appointment with the company over what they regarded as the unprofessional conduct by the management of the company.

However, accusing Sammie as being the brain being her unceremoniously sack, Baroness said, “Sammie has always been harassing me sexually and my problem in the station started when I turned him down despite the fact that I reported him to the CEO of the company.

“This is pure injustice as he had tried to have his way with me severally and threatened that if he doesn’t have me, it’s either he leaves the company or I leave and he has successfully done that.”

With the wave of sack amidst sexual harassment of female staff of the company, the company which is without programmes anchored by the sacked OAPs has been streaming just musicals to fill the void.
