A chieftain of the People Democratic Party, PDP, Professor Sam Oyovbaire has accused former President Goodluck Jonathan of crumbling the party in the wake of the 2015 general election which led to the crisis that almost tore the party apart.

The former Minister of Information also disclosed that President Jonathan only succeeded in developing the Northern part of the country where his impact was felt to the detriment of the south-south region.

Oyovbaire while addressing members of the Team Okowa Again, a political pressure group which is rooting for the reelection of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa at his Opuraja country in Okpe Local Government Area, said; “Jonathan knew the North won’t vote for him yet he kept pumping money into the region.”

He asserted: “Jonathan collapsed the party, as the leader of the party; he knew the North won’t vote for him yet he kept pumping money into that region and other Northern states.

“Go to the north, you will see the impact of Jonathan’s government there. He did more for the North at the expense of the south even when it was evident they were not supporting him.”

On the PDP Supreme Court ruling, Oyovbaire described Alhaji Modu Sheriff as an embodiment of deception saying, “Everyone knew he was out to destroy the party. We lost the election in Ondo and Edo state because of him.”

Members of the Team Okowa Again present at the meeting include the group’s National Coordinator, Mr Austin Ayemidejor, Hon. Ejaife Odebala, Hon. Julius Egbedi, Sapele Local government coordinator of team Okowa again,  Mr Eugene Inoaghan and a host of others.
