Delta LG Poll: Onoyake emerges PDP Chairmanship candidate for Uvwie

Ahead of the Delta local government elections, Hon. Ramson Onoyake emerges as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairmanship candidate for Uvwie local government council, at the party primaries conducted at the resident of Hon. Evelyn Oboro, at Effurun.


Chief Patrick Okoto, who supervised the primary election counting ballot papers, at the venue of the election that, produced Hon. Ramson Onoyake as PDP Chairmanship candidate for Uvwie LGA Election.

Announcing the result of the election, Chief Patrick Okoto, said a total votes cast was 46, saying that Chief Daniel Ighedo got one vote, Hon. Roy Oke four votes, Hon. Benjamin Ebrusike got five votes and Hon. Ramson Onoyake got 36 votes to emerge the winner.

According to Chief Mike Imiruaye, state officer of the party who supervised the election, he explained that they were supposed to be 56 delegates for the election, with five delegates representing each Ward and a special delegate.

PDP Chairman, Uvwie local government, Hon. Kelly Utuedor while presenting Hon. Onoyake to party faithful, said that what they witnessed was as a result of the inability of the aspirants to come out with a consensus candidate, hence the party resort to conducting primaries which eventually produced Onoyake.

Speaking to journalists after the primary, Hon. Ramson Onoyake expressed thanks to God, saying that he is looking forward for his subsequent victory at the general election.

He extends hands of fellowship to his opponent’s whom he described as “brothers” asking them to join hands with him to move Uvwie forward.

“If you can recall, this is my fourth times of contesting this election, I give God the glory and thanks to the people of Uvwie. I’m also going to work with my brothers, we are one in Uvwie. I’m going to work with my brothers to ensure we have a greater Uvwie.”

Hon. Ramson Onoyake has HND, Welding Engineering, PGD, Petroleum Economics and Masters, Public Administration MPA.

Some of the PDP leaders who participated in the primaries are: Hon. Evelyn Oboro, Hon. Solomon Ighrakpata, PDP state Treasurer, Chief Willy Ashubu,  Hon. Kelly Utuedor, PDP Chairman Uvwie LG, Madam Ufuoma Oboro, Secretary, Chief Mike Imiruaye, Hon. Peter Abugewa and others.
