Use your empowerment items judiciously, NDDC Boss urges recipients

The Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Mr. Nsima Ekere has charged beneficiaries of the agency empowerment programmes in the Niger Delta to use them judicious in order to improve the socio-economic condition of the people of the region.

 

The NDDC MD who was represented by Engr. Samuel Adjogbe, the commission’s Executive Director of Projects, (EDP) stated this during the official inauguration of Obi Francis Nwaoboshi Foundation, (OFNF) and presentation of empowerment items to youths and women at the Cenotaph in Asaba, Delta State.

 

He tasked the recipients of the empowerment items to use them judiciously to improve their lives and the lives of those around them, noting that is the only way government effort in alleviating poverty in the region can be achieved.

According to him, “I believe the recipients of these items will put them to judicious use and impact their lives and those around them.”

 

While thanking Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, founder of the OFNF and the Chairman of the Senate Committee on the Niger Delta, Mrs. Nkem Okwuofu charged leaders present at the event to empower youths and the less privilege in their various circle of influence.

 

Some other notable personality present includes; the Governor of Delta State, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, Senator Baba Kaka, who represented the Senate President, Hon Leo Ogor, (Minority Leader of the House of Representatives), Hon. Monday Igbuya, Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Chief Lawrence C. Osiegbu (Chairman OFNF, Board of Trustees), Chief Godswill Obielum, SA on political matters to the EDP, NDDC, Barr Jaro Omovudu Egbo and others.
