Meet Frank Efeduma; President Buhari’s Delta State Ambassadorial Nominee

Engr. Frank Efeduma is currently the Managing Director of FITMEC Limited, a drilling and petroleum engineering company in the upstream sector of the Nigerian oil industry. He is from Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State. He attended the famous Hussey College in Warri between 1960 and 1965. He proceeded to Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi where he obtained OND in Electrical Engineering, later to Yaba College of Technology, Lagos (1968-1970) where he graduated with an HND in Electrical Engineering.engr-frank-efeduma-ambassadorial-nominee

 

His quest for mastery in his profession led him to pursue a postgraduate degree in Industrial Engineering & Production Management at the prestigious Cranfield University of Technology, Bedford, UK and was awarded a Master of Science degree. He has attended several Management Courses/Workshops overseas and locally.

 

Between 1971 and 2004, Engr. Frank Efeduma worked as a staff of Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC). During this time, he held several strategic positions. In 2001, he rose to the enviable position of External Relations Manager, Western Division. In this capacity, he was responsible for developing strategies for managing community relations in Edo, Delta and Bayelsa States for oil producing Areas. He managed and delivered community development initiatives (projects) to oil producing communities, which also include coordinating collaboration between SPDC West and development agencies, CBOs, NGO, and USAID to attracted funds for the development of oil producing areas in Delta State.

 

At various times, Engr. Frank Efeduma also served in different capacities. Between 1988-1996, he was Chairman, Shell Minor contract tender Board, West. He was also the Chairman, SPDC drilling sequence-planning board 1988 to 1996. Chairman, Delta State Athletic Federation, (2003-2007), President, Shell International Unity School’s Board (2003-2011). At the state level, he served as Member, Delta State Telecommunication Committee in 2005 and Member, Delta State University Investment Board between 2003 and 2010.

 

Engr. Frank Efeduma is a founding chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State. During the 2015 general elections when the Urhobo Progress Union (UPU), the umbrella organization of Urhobo Nation was misled to adopt President Jonathan, he as a UPU executive, teamed up with Chief Tuesday Onoge to lead the group that broke away to form a new UPU to declare the full support of the Urhobo Nation for then candidate Buhari. An action that demanded uncommon courage and commitment to the course of APC! The breakaway UPU team also endorsed the Governorship candidate of the APC for the elections, standing by the now famous Uvwamuge Declaration!

 

Engr. Efeduma is a titled traditional Chief from Olomu kingdom, a reward of respect and honor for his immense contribution to community development and efforts to improve and develop humanity.

 

He is happily married with children. His dream to continue to serve his country just came true with him being tapped among other distinguished Nigerians to serve as ambassadors by President Muhammadu Buhari. His nomination is an affirmation of the desire of the government to work with people of integrity and excellent records.

 

Engr. Frank Efeduma will be bringing to the Foreign Service, his wealth of experience which cut across professional, political and community service.
