Demas Akpore 9th Memorial Lecture Series holds Dec 16

The Chief Demas Akpore annual memorial lecture organized by the Ejiro & Otive Igbuzor Foundation will hold December 16, 2016 at Donrose Event Centre, Ughelli, Delta State.

The theme for this year’s lecture “Chief Demas Akpore and Youth Development” will be delivered by Dr. Ogaga Ifowodo, a Rights Activist with Hon. Benjamin Ogbalor, a Policy Analyst will be the chairman of the event.

A release jointly signed by Mr. Foster Akpore and Mr. John Itoghor on behalf of the Planning Committee, sent to ADVOCATE, said that the lecture which is part of the Foundation’s commitment to Community Development is conceptualized to honour the former Deputy Governor of Bendel State Late Chief Demas Akpore, in recognition of his sterling, dynamic and visionary leadership and contribution to the development of the former Bendel State and Nigeria at large.

The event which promises to be exciting, will parade an array of discussants including; Ms. Nefertiti Ayo Okotie, Mr. Hope George, Mr. Austin Arumade and Mr. Micheal Akpobire.

The Foundation called on all well-meaning citizens of the old Bendel State and Nigeria at large to grace the occasion with their presence.

Chief Demas Akpore , was the first elected Deputy Governor of Bendel State (1979-1983). He was Principal, Government College, Ughelli and Founder & Principal, Orogun Grammar School. Akpore was one of the most remarkable characters in recent Urhobo history. He was a popular community leader in his native Orogun.
