We‘ll support Buhari’s peace and security initiative-Group

DELTA—A pan-Nigerian youth association that styles itself as Supportive Youths for Change (SYC) has pledged to mobilise youths across the country to support President Mohammadu Buhari’s peace and security initiatives in order to create conducive environment for development of the nation.

Addressing newsmen, after their monthly meeting held at Warri, Delta State, the National President of the association, Comrade Sunny Nwankego, said that they decided to support the president to enable him deliver on his electoral promises to Nigerian youths and the country at large.

According to him, “as youths we know that without peace there cannot be meaningful development, therefore, we are mobilizing youths across the country to support the President in ensuring that peace reign in all parts of the country.

He added that from the responses so far from the meetings held in the six geo-political zones, Nigerian youth has assured that they support President Buhari’s peace and security efforts in their different zones in order to check the activities of pipeline vandal, cultism, insurgency, militancy and kidnapping.

He noted that, “cultism is the breeding ground for other criminal groups and gang, and that if it is checked; we would have a peaceful Nigeria.

Nwankego also stated that the major aim of SYC is to have a well secured Nigeria which will boast the economy of the country, which will also attract direct foreign investment which will create job for our teaming unemployed youths.

He stated further that with the members of SYC in all the critical sector of the economy that if properly engaged they can work with security agencies by providing need security intelligence to check insurgency, militancy, cultism and other criminal activities.
