Dafinone congratulates Monsignor Ewherido, Bishop-Elect, Catholic Diocese of Warri

Delta Central Senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief Ede Dafinone has congratulated the Bishop-Elect of the Catholic Diocese of Warri, Monsignor Anthony Ovayero Ewherido, on his appointment by His Holiness, Pope Francis.

Chief Dafinone, who expressed delight over the appointment of Monsignor Ewherido as a Bishop-Elect in a congratulatory message he personally signed, said that the choice of Ewherido will no doubt bring new vigour to the work of God in the Diocese of Warri.

He described Monsignor Ewherido, as a well-educated and articulate priest who has garnered vast experience over the years as a preacher and a teacher, rising to the pinnacle of learning as a Professor of Biblical Theology and Languages, and until his appointment a Rector of the Seminary of SS. Peter & Paul, Bodija, Ibadan, Oyo State.

Dafinone in his congratulatory message said: “On behalf of the Dafinone family, I congratulate you, our Bishop-Elect, Monsignor Anthony Ovayero Ewherido and the entire members of the Catholic Diocese of Warri for a successful selection of a new Bishop without rancour.

“Your appointment comes at a crucial time in Warri Diocese history as the second indigenous Bishop and with so many expectations as the flocks’ hunger for a new sense of direction.

“I am confident that with your vast experience in human relations, administration and transformative gospel witnessing, this appointment provides a new opportunity for an impactful leadership for the church.

“May the good Lord continue to bless and strengthen you as you shepherd the sheep entrusted into your care. Once again, Congratulations Padre.”
